Motorcycle chains, small things that shouldn't be overlooked
Today, young men and women, both working and studying, often choose to have their own personal vehicles, such as motorcycles, to facilitate their daily lives more easily because they are affordable and, most importantly, agile and convenient for traveling. Today, I would like to introduce methods for taking care of important parts of the vehicle’s mechanism, such as the “chain”, which is considered the main heart in increasing driving performance to be even better. Maintaining the chain to look like new will help reduce damage that will occur to the sprocket and other cogs in the future.
The “chain” is considered the heart of a motorcycle because it helps transmit the acceleration of your beloved vehicle. Therefore, it plays an important role in driving the working mechanism that will make the motorcycle user feel the acceleration from the engine that is transmitted through the motorcycle chain, both slow and fast according to the torque you send. The “chain” is one of the most important parts of a motorcycle. In addition to choosing a quality chain, maintenance is also an important matter that we must not overlook. In our daily lives, riding a motorcycle everywhere will have dust or dirt sticking to the chain joints, making it one of the causes of rust, which is a point of accidents.
To maintain the motorcycle chain to extend its lifespan, there is an easy way to maintain it: use a spray specifically for chains to clean the dirt. Use a dry cloth to gently wipe the joints of the motorcycle chain, wiping off the dirt that sticks to the joints ( this step requires caution, our fingers must not touch the motorcycle sprocket teeth, it may cause danger ). Then spray again and warm up the chain by turning the rear wheel to allow the oil from the spray to reach the joints of the chain and the sprocket teeth faster.
But if you can't find a spray that is specifically for motorcycle chains, here's another method. The equipment you need to prepare may be a bit complicated, but it's guaranteed to extend the life of your motorcycle chain for a long time. The equipment includes diesel, an oil tray, an old toothbrush, a clean cloth, and a sponge. The cleaning process is easy: pour diesel into the tray, soak a sponge in oil, and place the sponge on the chain. Rotate the motorcycle wheel to allow the chain to move and touch the oil all over. Then use an old toothbrush to scrub and clean the chain joints, then wipe it again with a clean cloth. Finally, wipe it with diesel again to prevent rust. This will give you a motorcycle chain that looks like new and will also help extend its lifespan.
